1965 Ford Mustang GT Fastback

This is a unique collector owned Mustang and must be seen and driven to be appreciated. If you want to add something special to your stable this is it. You may not find another one like this. This Mustang received its first restoration years ago. Much equipment was added to address the handling shortcomings of a mid 60’s car. This is a genuine GT Mustang fastback and it has never been in any accidents. Sometime after the original restoration, this Mustang was used as a model for a lithograph which was available to the public for purchase. This was before the internet, so I don't have a copy of the print but if someone out there does please let me know and I will buy a copy from you. When I purchased this fastback, it was already in decent (average drivers quality) shape after sitting in dry storage for many years. I planned to have fun with it as is as a street and occasional track car. The car had zero rust other than some light surface rust on the doors; it was solid, solid, but needed work to be sweet, up to my minimum standards. Without going too overboard, I decided give the car a full top to bottom refresh that it deserved. While restoring the car we found that this car is stouter that first imagined, with all the R model chassis options from the reinforced and custom lengthened 9inch rear with built up gearing, the top loader 4 speed, quick ratio steering, disk brakes all around, konis, sub frame reinforcements, etc. It's newly built up 351 with GT40 heads is easily pushing over 400hp motor alone. The list goes on and on. The sound of this Mustang alone will bring music to your ears, goose bumps to your skin and tears of joy to your eyes. This car is simply a stunner to drive as it is to look at. It is perfectly tuned and it is completely at home cruising the streets. I had everything mechanical addressed so that this could be a fine reliable buttoned down street car, or road race car if someone wanted to track it (I think it is too nice now for that though). This is one of the stoutest and coolest looking first gen Mustangs that you will find. I will guarantee you that this car will garnish more attention and compliments than any Ferrari, Lamborghini or any other six figure muscle car out there.

For the cosmetics, I had it stripped, straightened and painted to show quality. Much time and effort (and money) was spent on body and paint. The widebody flares are yes, custom molded, but it is not your flimsy kit car or aftermarket type. It is 1/2 inch thick finished and is as strong as metal. Over 160 hrs were spent stripping to bare metal, sanding and blocking this car to get it as slick as possible. Multi stage paint was then applied. I also tracked down an ultra rare Secura FIV steering wheel (paid $1800) for an original look and feel for the interior. The undercarriage is clean and completely rust free. The floors are original with only a small 5inch section showing repair at some previous point. I mention these points only to illustrate how solid the car has always been and still is. Obviously a lot more was done to make the car what it is now.

This is one the most beautiful and unmolested v-8 Mustang convertable 4 speeds ever seen.
This beauty has had two owners and been in northern California for all it's life. It has zero rust, rot or bondo. It is as if she rolled off the factory line just over 66000 miles ago.
She sports a factory rangoon red paint job that is in excellent condition,a white power convertable top that works perfectly and all the chrome, molding and emblems are intact and original including the hub caps.
This is a rare "Trooper" model that were produced solely for California (as I understand it).
The interior is in immaculate condition, the carpet has been replaced recently as with the console but the rest is original and excellent.
The engine runs as good as new, there is no smoke and no leaks of any kind,it does not overheat and has been in many summer time parades over the years. It is the original and number matching 289 4bbl with a factory 4 sp. transmission that shift as smooth as butter.

1965 Ford Mustang Coupe

Title:
Mustang Pony * C-Code * Red on White * Nice Car

Mileage:
41,176 miles

Location:
Augusta, Georgia

A 1965 Ford Mustang Pony. This is a local, rust free, southern car. It is red and white.

This Mustang was restored about 2 years ago. The paint job is good but not perfect. There are a couple small imperfections such as a few spots where it looks like pine tree sap got on the car and in the right light you can see where it was. Nevertheless, it still looks real good. The chrome and trim are all excellent. It has the white Shelby stripes and hood scoop, and 15” chrome Pacer wheels with BF Goodrich Radial TA’s. All of the glass is in good condition.

The interior is very nice in white vinyl. It was completely restored with new door handles, window cranks, rear view mirror, visor chrome, seat chrome, and new seat belts. It has an aftermarket center console with the shifter in the floor. The seats, door panels, and headliner are all in excellent condition, as you will see in the many pictures.

The 289 engine runs out strong. It was performance built with roller rockers and a nice sounding cam. It was bored .30 over. It has an Edelbrock Performer aluminum intake, and an Edelbrock 650cfm carburetor, Edelbrock breather, Ford Motorsport valve covers, and headers with dual exhaust. The transmission shifts smooth and it is a pleasure to drive.

The undercarriage is solid and rust free. It has many new parts on the front end and adjustable gas shocks on the rear.

This Mustang runs, drives, handles, sounds, and looks great. It is a nice car.

1965 Mustang, Restored

Title:
1965 Mustang, Restored and FUN to drive!

Mileage:
86,200 miles

Location:
Central, OH

A RESTORED 1965 mustang coupe that has always turned heads and been a lot of FUN to drive!
This is a 6-cylinder 200 cid engine, with great power! I just flushed the engine, installed a new water pump, pipe, and hose assemblies. This car is fun to drive and my wife has enjoyed taking this car to area shows and to work as well. All of the gauges work, and the 4-speed standard transmission really moves the American Racing Wheels that were installed on this car. There is also a matching 5th wheel in the trunk, with a matching tire as well. The brakes are good, the tread is about 90% still. The under carriage is great, as you can see in the pics, a good restore. The only paint stripping I can see is in the trunk area, on the floor board, which still shows the fresh metal under the clothe trunk cover.
I can't say enough about this car, a blast to ride and to build memories on. This car does have an AM/FM cassette player, with speakers in the back for you to enjoy for long rides. This car has always been garaged, and is only driven on days that show no signs of rain. There is nothing wrong with the car that I can find. I maintenance all of our cars, and live by the rule that if you want it done right, you do it yourself. This car has been well taken car of. I wouldn't be afraid to drive this anywhere, as I have. This car hasn’t overheated, doesn’t eat oil, and cleans up real nice after every wash. With the metallic orange paint scheme, this really shines in the sun. The exhaust may be a single pipe, but sounds good.

1965 Ford Mustang

What makes this 'Stang so unique is that it is a numbers-matching 1965 Mustang Convertible loaded with tons of great options from the factory, such as an A-code 289 4v V8 engine (with only 43,548 miles on it!), 4-Speed Manual Transmission, Mustang A/C, Rally Pac, front bench seat, and dual exhaust, all according to factory specs in VIN! Paul has only owned this car for a short while, but he did have the VIN number verified by a professional, reliable company, who created for him a brand-new door tag, which you can see in the photos. This car does match all of its original specs. Paul is the third owner, having bought it from his neighbor, who is the uncle of the original owner. Paul's neighbor, this car's second owner, had this car professionally restored in Orlando a few years ago, and as such it is in great condition but with some minor rust on top of the gastank--otherwise, it is virtually flawless. As far as we can tell, this is NOT a GT, but it does have many hi-po parts that were included on GTs. For overall frame preservation and reliability, MustangOnlyOne gives this car 10 out of 10 points. For overall quality and performance, MustangOnlyOne gives this car a 9 out of 10 points, as it would be a perfect restoration if not for the rust on the top of the gastank and a few light scratches on the body. This car is a beauty and has power to boot.
