1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302

Title: 1970 Boss 302 Mustang Solid Body Project

Mileage: 100,000 miles

Location: College Park, MD

1970 Gold Boss 302 Mustang. I have the Marti Report for this Boss and this is how it was built with VIN #0T02G152142: Boss 302 (code G), bright gold metallic paint (code K), black deluxe knit woodgrain interior w/clock (code EA), 3.50 traction-lok 9-inch rear (code S), 4-speed close ratio trans (code 6), fold down rear seat, AM/FM stereo w/door speakers, décor group and convenience group. This Boss was produced January 20, 1970.

This is a solid project Boss 302. It has the Boss reinforced shock towers and staggered rear shocks. All sheet metal is original to this car except for the new floors and a re-skined driver door. The body is solid. The doors close nicely. The frame rails are all rust free including the front shock towers, torque boxes, floor supports, front rails and rear frame rails. Parts of the floors have been replaced (see photo). The original quarters are decent and this car is not full of bondo. However, the driver rear quarter has some rust/bondo on the very bottom (see photo). Also, the passenger door has some rust in both lower corners (see photo). This is minor rust below the driver rear tail light. The hood and trunk lid are very nice with no rust. The front fenders have no rust and are the original flared Boss 302 fenders. The vin# is clearly stamped on the passenger inner apron and original Ford vin# tag is on the dash. The motor in this car is NOT a Boss 302, but just a regular 302. It has all the clutch linkage and bellhousing with a new Centerforce clutch installed. It has a new long gas line and gas tank. The clutch pedal action is good and tight. I do NOT have a transmission for this car and the rear is a 28 spline 9-inch. It has a good radiator. The cowl is very nice and rust free. The passenger door glass is nice and lines up good when closed. The driver door glass is out. This is how I purchased this Boss last year. I do not have a front windshield. All the fold down seat parts are there. I believe it has the original AM/FM radio. Steering feels tight and I believe that when I install a transmission, this car would be drivable as is. So this is my starting point!

My first car in 1978 was gold (I called it butternut) 1970 Boss 302 with deluxe ginger interior, and I regretted selling it to stay in college ever since it drove away. Ford made 337 gold Boss 302s in 1970. Deluxe interior Boss 302s are rare at under 10 percent of production. AM/FM stereo is very rare. I looked a long time for another gold Boss 302 with deluxe interior and I purchased this car last year.

1970 Ford Mustang MACH I

Title: 1970 FORD MUSTANG MACH I

Mileage: 90,000 miles

Location: Edinburg, Virginia

This is an original 1970 Ford Mustang Mach I. Originally it was a Windsor car but has been replaced with a strong 351 cu. in. Cleveland big block monster. It is believed to be balanced and blueprinted with approximately 8000 miles on it with approximately 375 to 400 horses. It has the big heads, aluminum intake, Holley 750 double pumper, moderate cam with a great lope, Ford racing valve covers, Flame Thrower billet aluminum distributor and coil, Petronix spark plug wires. An MSD ignition, Accell Super Coil and Moroso Blue Wires are extra and go with car.

The body is straight and painted in the original "Calypso Coral" color. It is high quality and a head turner with only minor chips. The door jams are excellent as well as the kick plates. The stripe kit resembles the Boss kit only with Mach insignias. The stripes are not painted so they can be removed if desired. The chrome is excellent as well as the window mouldings. Rubber seals are new as well as the wheels and tires.

The interior is new with a wood grain wheel and Hurst shifter. All gauges, turn signals, and horn work. The clock doesn't work. The undercarriage is solid with all original pans. It has the original posi-trac rear end. Newer Flowmaster exhaust system. The drive shaft is not the original.

Now the best part: the Shaker, louvers, and rear spoiler are original Ford equipment. They are steel and not the plastic aftermarket reporductions. The rear spoiler even has the bow in it and the Shaker has a functional flapper in it.

With the new Unisteer rack and pinion power steering system this car rides, drives, and handles great. There is no play in the steering at all. All the original steering components go with car. It is a horse, fast, and a blast to drive.

This was an original air conditioned car. All of the components and controls are in the interior and dash. The engine components such as the compressor did not come with the car when I bought it.

This car has just undergone a fresh factory detail restoration as directed by the midwest’s mustang/shelby guru himself Chris Brown. The restoration was done using only original parts or high quality reproductions in their absence. Retaining the original quarters, doors, floors, fenders, hood, dash, glass, and most of the interior including recalibrated and restored tachometer and gauges. The engine, transmission, and suspension were completely rebuilt.

This car is on the top of the collector list as far as 1970 Mach 1’s go. This is a blue chip investment and you will not see another one like it.

1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302

Title: Boss 302 Shaker

Mileage: 93,000 miles
Location: LAX

>>>When the Boss 302 came out for 1969, Hot Rod magazine said it was "definitely the best-handling car Ford has ever built." Motor Trend called it "the word of our time...good, only better, fuller, rounder, and more intense." The street version of Ford's Trans Am racer was available to the public for less than $3,400-that's reasonable at only $800 more than a base six-cylinder Mustang coupe.
For that extra money, a '70 Boss 302 buyer received a G-code 302 with Cleveland heads, large canted valves, a forged-steel crankshaft and connecting rods, a high-rise aluminum intake manifold, a 780-cfm Holley carburetor, and a dual-point distributor that put out an advertised yet understated 290 hp. Two manual four-speeds were available: a wide-ratio box for the strip and close-ratio gearing for the road course.
The front suspension received 350-pound high-rate springs, heavy-duty shock absorbers, and a stabilizer bar. The Hotchkiss-type rear had 150-pound leaf springs and a staggered shock arrangement with a stabilizer bar. Front disc brakes were mandatory, and steering was a quick 16:1. Standard F60x15 tires were mounted on 15x7-inch wheels with flat "corporate" hubcaps, although many Boss 302s received the optional Magnum 500s. Space-saver spares, labeled 7.35, were standard issue.
Ford designer Larry Shinoda left his mark on the '70 Boss 302 body with its black-striped hood (paint in the center and tape stripes on the outside), chin spoiler, black tail lamp bezels and panel, color-keyed dual racing mirrors, and blacked-out deck lid. Reflective "hockey stick" tape striping incorporated "Boss 302" callouts on the fenders. A Shaker hoodscoop, Sport Slats, and a rear wing were optional.
The Boss 302 engine is a racing small-block V8 from Ford Motor Company. It was a hybrid of two small-block Ford V8s - It used the block of the small Ford Windsor engine and the heads of the larger Ford Cleveland engine. It was created for the SCCA's Trans-Am road racing series, and was fitted to the Boss 302 Mustang.
The high nickel content block has a thicker deck, cylinder walls and beefy 4-bolt main caps. It is easily identified by screw in freeze plugs on the side of the block, pent roof valve covers, very wide heads and a very wide intake manifold. The connecting rods are heavy, high strength steel forgings made for high rpm use. The crankshaft is a cross drilled high strength steel forging. The cam and lifters are high lift solid mechanical units.
The unique, wide, large port Cleveland style 4V heads with poly angle, semi-hemi style valve placement are what give the Boss 302 its unique high power capabilities. Early units were typically characterized by very large intake and exhaust valves sitting in a small quench style combustion chamber. Huge intake ports made certain that the engine only "woke up" above 4000 rpm, while at low RPM the Boss 302 motor ran very sluggishly. At racing speed the engine's performance was quite remarkable.
This Ford Boss 302 Mustang Shaker is Painted in eye popping Grabber Green. Its seen a Ground up restoration with orginality as its theme. While not out of the factory, showroom original its been painstakenly brought back to its glorie days of the 1970 Mustang Muscle Run. Original Motor , Headers, Traney, and rearend have all been restored to near factory specs. Its tight , solid and starts on a dime. An eye catcher down any highway or show. The Marti Report shows original build sheet and option specs right down to dates times and places. It drives and steers perfect with its Power assist Steering Option and Close Ratio 4 Speed Trans. The motor has a unique sound as a result of its solid lifter configuration. At idle, properly tuned, the engine has a great deal of 'rumble and shakes with idle RPM as it should, hence “The Shaker” as its often refered to. The Grabber Green paint show well and the interior is like near new.In the trunk we have the correct space saver tire. jack and tools all clean dry and show ready. The original Marti Report has it as green with green interior now changed out to Grabber Green and black and a much better look.. Restoration included correct stickers , battery, radio, wiring, any and all rust. Correct Tires, Wheels Chrome trim etc. all like new condition While the cost of the Boss 302 s continues to rise the cost to find one and restore it to original is becoming restrickted as parts and cars dwindle. The Boss cars of 1969 and 1970 may soon surpass The Shelby as Ford`s crowning Muscle Car achievment. Additional pictures, Marti Report and information http://www.boss302shaker.com/
The Grabber Green Boss has been in Hawaii since June 08 and is not a Hawaii car We will ship to West coast only at no charge with this price. 1970 Mustang Mach 1

Barn fresh Mach 1. This car was in my father's barn for eleven years. He was the second owner and he passed the car on to me two years ago, it has been garage kept since. This car needed a little dustin off and a little TLC and it was on the road. This car is a driver. The motor is original and runs good. The car had a new exhaust that was added about two years ago. The original dash had a large crack so it was removed and replaced with a dash pad with an air conditioing vent hole. This car did not come with air conditioning. This is an automatic with a drag pack. The car will need a paint job, but it does have a good shine now.

Ford : Mustang BOSS 302 1970 Ford Mustang Matching Fully Restored Boss 302 !

Shaped by a thoroughbred racing history more distinguished than nearly any other American factory built special, the Boss 302 has become a legend for its ferocious Trans Am series performance, as well as, one of the most highly sought after collector cars of our time.
Conceived in response to initial defeats in the American Trans Am series, the Ford Mustang Boss 302, named after stylist Larry Shinod’s nickname for then Ford President Semon “Bunkie” Knudson, the venerable limited production Boss 302 would do much to regain Ford’s reputation for “Total Performance”.
